# Hive Commons

Hive Commons maintains Hive, an Apache-2.0 control layer for governed, audited fleets of AI coding agents.

Crux is the agent runtime taken from Hive. Use it without Hive to start agents, send work, and recover from stalls and crashes.

Hive Commons also maintains Spektacular (Spek), a spec-driven workflow tool; the specs it produces are called speks.

Hive supports inference engines and gateways including vLLM, llm-d, LiteLLM, IBM watsonx.ai, OpenRouter, Anthropic, OpenAI and DeepSeek.
